GRAND RAPIDS -- City commissioners took no action Tuesday on an offer to privatize two-thirds of the city's downtown parking facilities. City Manager Kurt Kimball advised the commissioners to seek the advice of the Parking Commission, which operates the parking system, and the Downtown Development Authority, which owns several of the lots. Third Coast Development Partners announced it wanted to buy the facilities two weeks ago. Kimball told commissioners they also should consider offers to buy or lease the facilities from other developers and investors.
