HOLLAND TOWNSHIP -- A $40 million to $60 million redevelopment of the Hart & Cooley industrial plant on East Eighth Street was endorsed Thursday by the Holland Township Board in its pitch to be named a Renaissance Zone, which would exempt it from state and local property taxes for 12 years. Third Coast Development Partners, of Grand Rapids, plans to renovate the 750,000-square-foot industrial plant and turn it into seven buildings for restaurants, retail shops, offices and residential properties. The project would include the building of a minor league baseball stadium by Suncoast Baseball of Holland. The state Legislature has to approve the Renaissance Zone application.
